Certificates of Origin

TNETS applies for certificates of origin on behalf of clients.

Preferential Certificates of Origin

TNETS works with clients to determine whether products may qualify for preferential duty rates at destination.

TNETS provides information on how goods should be labelled, marked and certified to ensure that the importer at destination is able to obtain the preferred rate for the product in question.

TNETS then applies for preferential certificates of origin in the origin country which will then be used by the importer in the destination country to apply for the reduced or zero duties at the time the goods are imported.

Ordinary Certificates of Origin or Non-Preferential Certificates of Origin

TNETS works with clients to determine whether Ordinary Certificates of Origin are required for certification of origin of goods at destination.

The requirement may be for contractual, fiscal, inspection or licencing reasons in the the country of destination.

TNETS handles the application process from start to finish liaising with the client and the certifying organisation – normally a chamber of commerce or customs or other government body at origin – and ensuring that applications are complete despatched with the necessary supporting documentation.

Where the certificate is required to be endorsed (consularised) by the destination country’s respective diplomatic mission in the country of origin then TNETS also provides the necessary assistance to ensure that documents are delivered and collected on time in the correct form.

Where consularisation is required then the completed documents will be presented to the relevant Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their further endorsement.
